Nice find in Plant City. Fresh, made to order seafood. We had the the blackened shrimp, grilled sea bass and a shrimp po boy, all nicely prepared and good portions. Feels like a beachy dive kind of place. Very clean. Worth a stop.

I ordered the catfish basket with fries and was very satisfied. The fried catfish was plump and moist. They got the fries right, too. Friendly service. An excellent choice for fried seafood.

Awesome Cajun/Spanish seafood place. Hole in the wall feel with great seafood. The service was quick and friendly with great explanations of the menu. I had the shrimp bowl and the crab empanadas. I would like to try everything on the menu! I also tried the catfish, which was on point.

Fast fresh non frozen seafood!! Everything made to order! We had fried gator, catfish, gulf shrimps, and grilled shrimp . We left full and most plates were under 9 bucks!! We also had fried green tomatoes . The owner is on site, runs the front of the house, he is Mad friendly!!!! Buyer beware the shrimp coleslaw is awesome and has a nice kick to it Also be aware beverages are .60 for a refill, no complaints here. Not fancy , were talking 9 bucks a plate, plastic dinnerware, if you want fancy, triple the price and enjoy less for more!!! Thanks Eric for making a positive note for my family.....

This place is a hidden gem of plant city. It's easy to pass up but look out for a sign that says "sea food restaurant". We were greeted by the super friendly owner who gave us recommendations and daily specials. What we ordered.... Water: 1/5 they don't have any regular water, just bottled and it's just a little weird. Perhaps so they can charge more? Gumbo: 4/5 on the soupier side but still good. Crab empanadas: 4/5 made fresh with a mild Cajun crab stuffing. Recommend! Fried shrimp: 4.5/5 fried to the right doneness without too much breading. Fried catfish: 5/5 best part of the meal. Huge serving and the crust was piping hot and crunchy! Would highly recommend this.

I have to think Kimberly for her review, as it let me find out this place had opened. My wife and I tried Shrimp and Co. Express tonight. It is owned by the guy that originally owned the one in Ybor. The seafood was really fresh and good. We started with the Crab balls, which were by the and far the best I have ever had. My wife had the crawfish tails basket, and speaking as a Louisiana boy, they were made really well. I had the catfish basket and it was good too. If you want fresh seafood with a Louisiana and Floribean twist in Plant City, this is definitely up there with Linda's Crab Shack and Chanceys. I spoke with the owner and he is going to be doing some soups and gumbo as specials on certain weekends... I can't wait to try them. The hush puppies are the best I have found in Florida since leaving Louisiana.

Nice people, very clean. Food was good, cole slaw was awesome! Will come back again!!!

Excellent meal, Eddie. Thank you for placing this hidden little gem in Plant City. Blackened seasoning is done perfect, healthy amount of fried portions & the shrimp slaw is spot on. Look forward to the opening of the bar/oyster house and coming back for happy hour!

Freshest, best tasting crawfish poboy I've ever had. Not at all greasy. Scollops a little too greasy, though.

This was a great experience. I took a road trip to check this place out. It is a small place with only a few tables, but they run a nice, extremely friendly operation. The reviewer who mentioned their knack for perfecting the "blackening" process was spot on. My blackened catfish was done just right - with the spices shining through and enough of a kick to really be interesting. This place is outside of the main business district on Route 92 and was a bit tricky to find. If you are going east out of Plant City on Route 92, it is just past Walter Dr on the left - just before Dollar General. Most worthwhile culinary road trip.

Plant City has done it again, managed to attract an outstanding resturant ! I call it Cajurican ! Finally a place in Fl who knows what blackened means, not some salty piece of meat burned. The catfish, fried or blackened is spot on, the Cajun coleslaw is spicy enough but not overwhelming, the hush puppies are their own secret recipe and the sweet potatoe fries are a southern girls dream. My husband has been back three days in a row since the find! He has tried the crawfish po boy, the andouille po boy and the clam strip basket. We are hoping they offer a frequent diner card. Go go go!

This place is amazing. My family and I got a pretty large variety of food. Everything was good. It was also very fresh. Just love this place if you leave this place dissatisfied something is wrong with you.

Simply put, this is fresh. The shrimp were perfect, big and lightly battered. The oil was obviously clean and fresh. The batter was flavorful without being to thick, or over seasoned. The fried green tomatoes were tart and hot. Growing up in Florida I have been sad to see such shoddy seafood from most places. Shrimp and co. is simple, good, cajun inspired seafood executed well. Would be great anywhere, but Plant City needed a place like this. Get the oyster po-boy as well. Plump, not overcooked, and juicy oysters are a treat. The bread was so-so, but wasn't a deal breaker. Boring fries......as easy as it would be to cut their own, we wished they had, but they were fine. Would recommend this spot to all.

Can't really leave a review because we drove up to this restaurant around 12:10pm lunch time and the parking lot was empty.... Hmmm. All we saw when we turned into the parking lot was what looked like the owner and a bunch of other guys cleaning their cars. After reading a couple reviews on yelp that said there is a new owner and seafood isn't the same and portions are small for the price- we made a decision not to eat here. Don't want to take any risks for a bad lunch, and for me... You know a hole in the wall restaurant is good when you can't find a parking at lunch time. This place looked like it was begging for customers.

  • Bill D.

Fresh seafood, nice friendly workers! I had the crab empanadas fresh and hot! Also had the scallops with sweet potato fries. Good taste and portions size good enough for most people! Looks like a hole in the wall and is but worth while stopover for good cajun food!

Food at our last visit was still good, but of the 8 there only 5 were served within 25 minutes, then three more then finally, after 35 minutes my daughter got hers, minus the excellent sweet potatoes fries that came after we complained. They more than filled a whole bowl with them, but still.... A person who we turned onto this place, now sold to a family member, had such an unpleasant experience she will no longer go back. She loved it two months ago. We will give it another try, but they were out of gator sand some other items, one of the reasons for going there. Food still was excellent however. Decor improved somewhat.

Love this place. Something different in the area of Plant City. Small little seafood restaurant, friendly people, welcoming environment, great food. Try the Bass po' boy, one of my favorites. Would recommend.

  • Jeff S.

It's a new owner now.. On our last visit the shrimp were smaller than we are used to getting here. We are hoping that they didn't change the source, they used to be very large gulf shrimp, this time they looked like farm raised mediums/small but they gave you more in a basket to make up for it.

  • Catherine L.

This was my second time here, last time was about a year ago or so. Not sure about a "new owner", but the guy in the restaurant was the same, he's REALLY friendly and makes it a great experience. Love the customer service and love the food. Definitely worth going to. Love the po boys and the coleslaw is great.. Oh and the empanadas were great! I love that the foods are fried, but not greasy.

  • Mary S.

Just finished a fabulous meal! Worththedrive. Listen to the waiter/bartender's recommendations. The house Sangria and crab empanadas didnt disappoint. The shrimp dinner was fresh tasting and a goodportion size. Would go back when in the area.

  • Nancy M.

Loved the grilled shrimp, coleslaw and homemade sangria. I'm taking off a star for the plastic forks...you have real plates, go spring for a real fork. Friendly service, I would have liked a glass of water but our server was pretty overworked and didn't make it back to us.

  • Cindylou W.

I will NEVER go back there again!!! My fish was raw the owner was the cook Too and cashier. He kept asking us if it was good across the bar and I told him yes because I was eating the fries and they are good. Very awkward. They were out of potatoes and dessert if I actually would have ordered it. Please save you time and money. I do NOT recommend this place. :(

This review is based off overall service and food. The food was pretty good but rather spicy. The reason this review is one star is because 1. I asked for water and they didn't have tap water so I was given a 1.75 bottle of water which of course no refills because it's a bottle... 2. The transaction didn't not process through my account till about THREE weeks later.... Not going back.

Found this place by accident. Definitely tiny little hole in the wall place that we are SO glad we discovered! Deviled crabs were delicious. I've been looking for a good shrimp po'boy sandwich and I found it here! My boyfriend got the fried shrimp basket and really liked it. Restaurant is small and has a couple of outdoor tables in addition to about 8-10 inside tables. Very clean and comfortable -- casual atmosphere. Apparently, they're closed Sundays and Mondays and are only open til about 8:30 most nights. We went for a late lunch. Service was very nice & friendly. We are only about 20 minutes away so we will definitely be back again!

Based on reviews by other "yelpers" I decided to give this place a try. I was very disappointed. The butterflied shrimp had a weird stringy thing attached that wasn't very appealing. The herbed potatoes were a bit undercooked and my cole slaw was warm. I did like the taste of the shrimp and the hushpuppies were delicious.

Yummy food and a great little hole in the wall. The shrimp was so good my 3 year old son ordered seconds. My husband usually doesn't like coleslaw, but he loved their coleslaw. All the food was just so fresh tasting and delicious. The owner was working when we went and he was very personable. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody.
